Welcome to the Kingston Field Naturalists

The Kingston Field Naturalists (KFN) is a nature club and charitable organization, active since 1949. Its objectives are the preservation of wildlife and natural habitats, and the stimulation of people’s interest in nature.

PLEASE NOTE that the KFN shall cease all field trips, face-to-face meetings and rambles until at least the end of May. Our AGM is postponed until September.

BIOBLITZ 2020: It is with regret that we must cancel the Kingston 2020 BioBlitz. We hope to be able to hold the 2021 BioBlitz in the same location and hope you will be able to join us then. INSTEAD you are invited to submit your natural history sightings in the Kingston Circle (50 km around City Park) for June 12-13, to the i Naturalist Natural History Kingston Study Area site.  Please see event listing for details.

The Club membership has a diversity of interests in nature and so a variety of activities take place year-round. Bird watching trips, nature rambles, wildflower walks and other field trips are led by knowledgeable individuals from both within and outside the Club. Each May the public is invited to join a series of bird walks.

Monthly meetings are open to both members and the public. They feature guest speakers including naturalists, scientists, conservationists and photographers who speak on a wide range of subjects.

Members regularly participate in hands-on conservation projects such as habitat stewardship and wildlife surveys.
