Field Trip: Paddle at Puzzle Lake Provincial Park
September 13, 2020 @ 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM EDT
Leader: Carolyn Bonta (613-531-4578)
Late summer is a pleasant time to explore this non-operating Natural Environment class provincial park by canoe, where we will see rare plants such as the Endangered Lowland Toothcup (Rotala ramosior) and fascinating landforms including the potentially-meromictic Loyst Lake. Anticipate approximately 5 km of paddling, plus one 150 m portage. Good boots and walking poles are recommended, as the terrain is very rugged and some features are a short bushwack from shore. There are no washroom facilities at this park. We will depart Kingston at 8 am, and aim to return by 4 pm. Meeting location details will be shared with those who call (no e-mails, please!) to register for the trip. Trip registration has reached capacity; call to be added to the waitlist.
